I started learning Python through a few Code School courses. While the courses were nice, they didn’t cover Python’s object oriented features. I decided to do some additional reading and start a (mini) project.

I dug out the course outline of a numerical analysis course I took in university and implemented the formulas that course covered.

Naming the project was tough. NumPy was (un)fortunately taken, so I settled for a mouthful: Pythonumerical.

Check it out if you’d like. I’ve included contribution guidelines. If you like math and want to take Python out for a real-world-ish spin, you will find the necessary templates already present in the project.

Additional thought: The internet could use a good basic tutorial on how to setup and use a Python package; perhaps I’ll write one after taking Pythonumerical to a certain stage.
